I just saw Tropic Thunder today and thought I would do a movie review since the movie critic in the newspaper I receive loves to trash comedies. Now I not saying this movie is complete genius, but it didn’t deserve the utter hatred that this critic put towards it. I would say that if anything this movie didn’t feel like it dragged on forever, like most comedies are becoming. It had just the right amount of randomness in it to make funny not just weird, such as an almost unrecognizable Tom Cruise complete with a fat suite and a balding doing a booty dance to hip-hop songs. There is almost no purpose to the movie except as a to criticize the entertainment industry, the first “movie previews” are nothing but making fun of certain types and movies. It doesn’t have so much “raunchy” humor to make it seem like it was trying too hard to be funny like some other recent comedies, I might mention like Step Brothers, but had just a plan silliness to it. On a side note, this movie actually had really good special effects. I know this review is very vague, but I think that all movies are translated differently to different people and even if I word for word described the movie, it couldn’t decide whether or not you would like the movie. Don’t ever see or not see a movie just because of a review, especially this review.
